Meet the Team: Matilda

What do you do at zeroheight?
I am a data analyst, working primarily with our product teams. My favorite part of the job is seeing the results of everyone’s hard work in action, and being able to feedback on a success, a trend, or an insight to the team that could generate ideas for the next great feature.

Favorite thing at zeroheight?
While meetings sometimes get a bad rap in the corporate world, my favorite thing at zeroheight is genuinely the company-wide meetings. I never knew All Hands could be fun, but I end up looking forward to it every week. It really shows how important people and the company culture are when making work engaging and interesting, every single week.

Cats or dogs?
Cats, always cats! While I do not have any pets currently, it is only a matter of time before I become the cat lady I’ve always wanted to be. In fact, I’m already picking out names for them! I would like to give them food names (like Sushi and Cheddar), but my partner wants to give them more “human” names (like Henry and William). We are currently thinking of compromising and naming them Wellington (Beef) and Benedict (Eggs).

Worst subject at school?
I was a bookish kid who never did well in arts and crafts. I once made a wooden butter knife so thick and heavy you could hammer nails with it, and we shall not speak of the sorry excuse for a handbag I made in sewing class. As an adult, I’m taking crafts back by knitting, embroidering, and sewing my own clothes! Is it too late to go back and amend my grades?

What TV show could you not live without?
I am going to bend the definition of a TV show here as an excuse to talk about my love for the wonderful, annual TV event of  ✨Eurovision✨. I adore the theatrics of Eurovision, the lore of performances past, the outfits, the pure bizarreness on display! Between January and May, at least 10% of my brain is always reserved for thinking about (and talking about) Eurovision facts. Did you know France is sending a song sung in the Celtic language Breton this year? I can’t wait!
