This time, we’re tackling how to collaborate on a design system. We’ll talk about the tools you should be using, who should be doing what, and how you can create a review and governance process that ensures your design system site is accurate and consistent.
In the first half, we’ll talk about some of the things we’ve seen design system teams do well to foster collaboration. Those methods range from creating a council to religiously relying on project management tools like Jira. And, of course, some great teams have a combination of methods to keep everyone on the same page. In the second half, we’re open for questions! Bring your ideas and queries about collaboration for Michelle and the audience to weigh in on.

Michelle serves the design community through knowledge sharing, building bridges, and consulting. She works with companies of all sizes and experiences to untangle the challenges they’re facing with their design system. Before joining zeroheight, she worked on all design phases, from starting them for small products to scaling them across large enterprise portfolios. She co-hosts the UX IRL and the Design Systems WTF podcasts. Michelle is also an environmental justice advocate and works to provide tree equity in Oakland, California.
