Meet the team: Kelsey Bones

What do you do at zeroheight?

I’m a Senior Product Designer here at zeroheight. My job includes understanding user problems and needs and working with my product manager and engineers to design a solution that meets those needs. Day to day, this looks like working on designs in Figma, having calls with customers, working on our own design system (Flapjack!), and getting feedback from the other designers on our team.

Favorite thing at zeroheight

I often joke that working at zeroheight is like being in a cult because everyone you speak to talks about how great the culture is. There’s a real feeling of belonging, and no matter who you talk to, they will always make you feel welcome. What album, book, and luxury item would you take if you were marooned on a desert island?

Album would have to be Puzzle by Biffy Clyro, there isn’t a single song on that album that isn’t a masterpiece.

Book is Mort by Terry Pratchett. I have read it many times and could read it many times over.

Finally, my luxury item would have to be my Nintendo Switch and some form of electricity source to power it, so I can ignore the fact I’m on a desert island by building my animal crossing community on a desert island.

If you were a character from a TV show or film, who would you be?

Tina from Bob’s Burgers. I wear glasses, am a little clumsy, and a lot weird.

What did you want to be as a kid?

I changed jobs every week as a child. The highlights of which are; an archaeologist after watching The Mummy, a cat after watching The Lion King, and a forensic scientist after watching CSI. Luckily I grew out of deciding my career based on my most recent tv obsession and realized I couldn’t grow up to be a cat…
