Over 500 people shared how things were going in our survey last fall. We analyzed all the responses and gathered as many helpful insights as possible. The How We Document Webinar Series

We wanted to take a closer look at some of the broader insights. In this series, we’ll be hosting a webinar around each of these topics:

• February 15, 2023: Starting design systems – how to navigate the beginning
• March 1, 2023: Adapting design systems – with a focus on transitioning tools
• March 15, 2023: Scaling design systems – with a focus on growing your team

In these panel discussions, we’ll hear from industry experts on their approach, pro tips, and lessons learned from their experiences. There will be time for participants to ask questions about the topic.

Webinar 1: Starting Design Systems – navigating the beginning

From our How We Document 2023 report, most respondents are in the early stages of design system creation. Starting design systems isn’t just a matter of designing a few components. These days it’s much more than that. Teams are documenting sooner and including tokens earlier.

Learn from our amazing panelists about how they’ve approached starting a design system. When should you start documenting? How soon should you include tokens? What are common mistakes and how can we avoid them? The first half will be questions asked by our very own Design Advocate Jules Mahé and then we’ll field questions from the audience!

As the design system space continues to evolve, so do the tools that support it. From our How We Document 2023 report, we get a sense that the tools landscape is adapting. This webinar will address how to transition tools with your design system team and those consuming it.
