Call for Videos! Celebrate World Design Systems Week with us!

Come celebrate the first World Design Systems Week with us! We’re creating a kick-off montage video featuring design system makers across the world. This is where you come in!

We’d love you to submit a video recording answering ANY of the following questions.

  • How do you build bridges (with your design system, teammates, community, etc.)?
  • Describe what a design system is
  • What’s an indicator of a strong design system?
  • Share a design system best practice!
  • What excites you about design systems?
  • What are common design system pitfalls?
  • What’s your favorite design system and why?
  • What’s an analogy for a design system and its value?
  • What is your best advice for building a good design system?
  • What’s your advice for design system adoption?
  • What is your favorite feature/thing about zeroheight?
  • What’s your creative outlet?
  • Any guesses as to why zeroheight is called zeroheight?

We’ll edit all the questions and answers together and present the video during World Design Systems Week!

Tips on shooting

General

  • You can use your phone or record yourself on a Zoom call
  • If you answer more than one question, you can submit one long file or one file for each question. The latter is probably easier for you and our editor!
  • Try to frame the interviewee so the shot includes a little bit above their head and below their shoulders
  • Limit background noise as much as is possible
  • Keep answers short!! and safe for work
  • Don’t stress and have fun!

If you are doing selfie-style (i.e., not interviewed on a call)

  • Ensure your device is in landscape
  • Read the question, pause then answer – or incorporate the question in your answer
  • Leave gaps between questions

If interviewing

  • Ensure there are gaps between people talking to make it easier to cut together
  • Mute yourself when the interviewee is speaking
  • If an answer could be better or they say something that could be expanded upon, don’t be afraid to do the same question again
